Abstract From the Canadian patent

A zinc-air battery (10) in a case (12) including a zinc particle bed (27) supported the current feeder (22) and diaphragm (26) on a porous support plate which holds the particles but passes electrolyte solution. Electrolyte is recycled through conduit between the support plate and top of the bed by convective forces created by a density differential caused by a higher concentration of high density discharge products in the interstices of the bed than in the electrolyte recycle conduit.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 6, 1990. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 6, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 6, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
