Abstract From the Canadian patent

Provided is a method for processing anionexchange membrane which comprises immersing an ionexchange membrane having a fluorine-containing polymer as matrix in a water-soluble organic solvent or an aqueous solution thereof to swell the membrane and then rolling, or stretching the membrane to reduce the thickness thereof. The resulting ion-exchange membrane is improved in water content and is low in sheet resistance and ionexchange membrane fuel cells in which said membrane used are excellent in discharge characteristics.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 6, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 6, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 6, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
