Abstract From the Canadian patent

A support bracket is disclosed made of a cast material having an embedded reinforcing plate with preformed holes of a diameter greater than that of corresponding holes drilled through the cast material. The cast material is preferably a relatively lighter and readily machinable material such as aluminum, while, the reinforcing plate is of a relatively stiffer and harder material, such as steel. The larger diameter of the reinforcing plate holes enables holes to be drilled through the support bracket with cutting into the hard material of the reinforcing plate. The reinforcing plate is advantageously configured to increase the natural frequency of vibration of the bracket.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 4, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 4, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 4, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
