A polyacetal binder is removed from an extruded or injection molded ceramic green body in less than 25 hours by a variable heating rate schedule in which the heating rate is reduced when the temperature of the green body reaches the point at which isothermal degradation of the polyacetal binder can take place and wherein at least 80 wt. % of the binder can be removed. In air the isothermal removal of binder can take place within the range of 160-220 °C while in nitrogen the range is from about 300-360 °C.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 22, 1990 and granted June 4, 2002. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 22, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 22, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
