A bunk bed assembly for home use in which upper and lower bed frames of the assembly are provided and a support is further provided which supports the bed frames so they can be pivoted upward and backward to allow access to the floor space covered by the frames. The bunk bed assembly also utilizes a ladder which serves as support legs for the bed frames when in horizontal position and which can be used to pivot the bed frames. The ladder also pivots relative to the frames so that it folds toward the frames as they are pivoted.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 22, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 22, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 22, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
