A method and apparatus for determining flow rates of well fluid constituents without separating the liquid constituents thereof from one another. A gas constituent of a fluid stream flowing from a wellhead is separated from liquid constituents of the fluid stream by a gas/liquid separator. The gas flow rate is measured by a gas meter. The mass and density of the liquid stream is measured by a mass flow meter. The percent of water in oil of the liquid constituents is measured by a water cut meter. This system provides a simpler and less expensive method and apparatus of determining well flow rates than prior art apparatus.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 9, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 9, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 9, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
