Abstract of the Disclosure, An adaptive transmission pressure control based on a measured interval of speed ratio progression includes a closed-loop control which compensates for factors that tend to extend the speed ratio progression. The control detects the rate of speed ratio progression during a first portion of the inertia phase of the shift, and employs closed-loop pressure control to maintain the detected rate of progression through completion of the shift. This ensures that the measured progression interval will accurately reflect the relationship between the scheduled pressure and the resulting shift ratio progression, regardless of factors which would otherwise influence the …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 30, 1992 and granted November 16, 1993. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended March 30, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 30, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
