Disclosed is a measuring catheter having light-emitting and light-receiving optical fibers disposed within the catheter, the end faces of the lightemitting and light-receiving optical fibers being fixed to the outer sidewall of the catheter so that they are opposite to each other with a predetermined space therebetween. The degree of oxygen saturation or flow rate of the circulating blood can be determined in real time by supplying both measuring light and reference light to the light-emitting optical fiber of this catheter and measuring the transmittances of the two types of light that are collected by the light-receiving optical fiber after having passed through the blood present in the …

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 17, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 17, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 17, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
