A forklift truck has a central pivot in the part (22). In order to prevent tyre scrub when the parts are turned to an extreme postion in which the centre of turning for example lies under the innermost one of the driven wheels (14) or even within the track of the driven wheels, each of the driven wheels has a separate driving motor and means are provided to stop or reverse the drive to the innermost wheel.

Why it's free to use
- Filed July 6, 1990 and granted April 6, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 6, 2010.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 6, 2012.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
