This disclosure describes the synthesis of layered double hydroxide compositions interlayered by polyoxometalate anions with Keggin-type structures and having the formula M1-x"Mx'''(OH)2Ax/n-.yH2O wherein, M'' is a divalent metal and M''' is a trivalent metal, A is an anionic polyoxometalate of negative charge n x range between 0.12 to 0.8, and y is a positive number. The products exhibit well-defined XRD peaks corresponding to uniformly crystalline layered products with basal spacing values > 14 .ANG..

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 6, 1991 and granted January 14, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 6, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 6, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
