The invention relates to a system for periodically and/or continuously draining the bladder of female patients. The system includes a catheter tube (10) intended for insertion into the urethra of the patient, and a container (23) for collecting the urine discharged from the bladder. The container (23) is connected to the outlet opening of the catheter tube (10), either directly or indirectly.
