Abstract From the Canadian patent

Provided are hybridomas for producing monoclonal antibodies against acetylated lysine residues of rbSt. The antibodies are specific to the presence of at least a single acetylated lysine in a protein and can differentiate between .alpha.-acetyl and .epsilon.-acetyl lysine as free amino acids. The invention provides a guantitative and efficient test for acetylated impurities in recombinant proteins prepared using E.coli as the host.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 16, 1990 and granted June 29, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 16, 2010.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 16, 2012.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
