Abstract of the Disclosure, A cam cover for an overhead cam engine has first and second oil separators connecting the crankcase with the engine induction system high and low vacuum portions as part of a crankcase ventilation system. The separators each have a floor sloping toward the outlet and forming a sump with a drain to the crankcase. A large slow flowing separation chamber precedes the sump. An optional inlet tube is angled down with a large inlet facing away from the oil splash. A shelf may extend between the sump and the outlet end to deter oil carryover to the outlet. Optional PCV valve and oil filler locations are shown.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 10, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 10, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 10, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
