A method and apparatus for one-touch recall and dialing of stored telephone or billing account numbers using only the numeric and special keys of a standard 12key keypad. Upon momentary actuation of a numeric or special key of a standard keypad, the data input is entered into a buffer or directly dialed into a telephone network. If, however, the actuated key is actuated for more than a predetermined amount of time a previously, stored sequence of numbers is retrieved from a memory address location corresponding to the actuated key and is automatically dialed.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 19, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 19, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 19, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
