4964.US.01, ISOLATION OF PROTEINS BY, ULTRAFILTRATION ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE, A high quality soy protein isolate with a significant reduction in phytate and aluminum is prepared via ultrafiltration. Defatted soy flour slurry is prepared and adjusted to a pH such that the protein becomes solubilized. The solubilized protein can pass through the ultrafiltration membrane. The ultrafiltration system rejects phytate and aluminum. Once the soluble protein passes through the ultrafiltration system the soy protein isolate is then precipitated from the clear permeate stream by adjusting the pH within the isoelectric range of soy proteins.

Why it's free to use
- Filed February 11, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended February 11, 2012.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 11, 2014.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
