Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method and device neutralize alternating stray current flowing through a ground return circuit in the proximity of an animal susceptible to be affected by this current. The alternating stray current flowing through the ground return circuit is sensed and a signal representative of that stray current is produced. In response to this current representative signal, an alternating compensatory current is generated and injected in the ground return circuit. The alternating compensatory current has an amplitude equal to the amplitude of the sensed stray current and is out of phase with respect to that stray current by an angle of 180°. Therefore the, alternating compensatory current and the …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed February 5, 1992 and granted November 24, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended February 5, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by February 5, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
