Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process for the qualitative analysis of particles consisting of various kinds of plastic by emission spectroanalysis in which the light radiation which is emitted in response to an irradiation of light at shorter wavelengths and which has a comparatively long wavelength is detected for radiation intensities within a relatively narros wavelength range to form an emission spectrum and predetermined discrete spectral lines or spectral line ranges of the plastics to be analyzed are detected and utilized for an identification of the plastic particles. Each plastic particle is subjected to a pulse of shortwavelength light, a characteristic number is: determined in accordance with an algorithm …

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 30, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 30, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 30, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
