Abstract From the Canadian patent

Methods and compositions are provided for inhibiting the formation and deposition of pyrolytic coke on metal surfaces in contact with a hydrocarbon feedstock undergoing pyrolytic processing. Coke inhibition is achieved by adding a coke inhibiting amount of a combination of a boron compound and a dihydroxybenzene compound. Dihydroxybenzene compounds also proved effective when added by themselves to the hydrocarbon feedstock.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed January 23, 1992. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended January 23, 2012.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by January 23, 2014.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
