A device for controlling flow is sealed by anannular seal. A blocking element can move in relation to a seat of a first half-body. The blocking element is rigidly connected to the other half-body by a rod. To control the valve the half-bodies, are moved relative to each other axially by elastically compressing the seal, which consists of a silicone sleeve. Useable in particular in the food industry, to do away with seals for controlling the valve and to eliminate rooks in the flow path.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 10, 1991 and granted October 21, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 10, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 10, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
