Folding means of a folding turret (10) in particular, folding mandrels (11) in the form of elongate thin-walled hollow bodies, are susceptible to mechanical stress. The folding mandrels (11) are monitored by a monitoring unit (13) with inductive tracers (14, 15; 29 30) as regards, correct arrangement and shape. Any changes in the shape of the mandrels actuate an error signal which is assigned to the respective folding mandrel (11). The tracer means may be arranged on one side of the path of movement of the folding mandrels (11) at different distances thereto. Alternatively tracer means can be installed at equal distances on either side of the path of movement of the folding mandrels (11).

Why it's free to use
- Filed December 30, 1991 and granted January 19, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 30, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 30, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
