Abstract From the Canadian patent

In order to recover or dispose of ammonia or ammonia compounds from mixtures of dust that occur during combustion processes during subsequent gas cooling, or during subsequent gas scrubbing, the dust that is created is mixed in batches with water in a closed system at a temperature that is lower or equal to the temperature at which the dust leaves the combustion cooling or scrubbing process, and the resulting vapours are drawn off in a vacuum.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 20, 1991 and granted February 4, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended December 20, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 20, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
