Abstract From the Canadian patent

A concentrator (10) for a token ring network (12) utilizes latching relays having separate set and reset coils (28,30) for controlling the insertion/bypass of the ports (14) into the token ring network (12). Circuitry for providing a global reset capability for all of the ports (14) includes transistors (68.70) which function to both provide a path for the global reset pulse to the reset coils (28,30) and to isolate each reset coil (30) in a port (14) from the reset coils of the other ports. Other circuitry is provided for preventing activation of the global reset function from affecting an active port. 14838 CA

Why it's free to use

  • Filed December 17, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended December 17, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by December 17, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
