Abstract From the Canadian patent

A bushing assembly for use with an associated torque rod comprises a bar pin, an elastomeric bushing and an outer, sleeve. The bar pin has a middle section which is generally rounded but which features a flat portion between 30% and 40% of the axial length of the middle section. The elastomeric bushing bonded to the bar pin is compressively received within the outer sleeve so that the total height is reduced by approximately 10%. The edges of the outer sleeve axe curled inwardly toward a longitudinal axis of the assembly.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed November 20, 1991 and granted October 3, 2000. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended November 20, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 20, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
