A dispensing assembly includes a seal that is induction-bonded to an outlet of a container. A cap having at least one side opening is detachably connected to the container over the seal to protect the seal during shipping. Once the cap is removed, the seal can be peeled away from the outlet. The absence of the seal can be observed when an attempt is made to reconnect the cap to the container after the seal has been removed.

Why it's free to use
- Filed November 14, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended November 14, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by November 14, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
