Abstract From the Canadian patent

A process and apparatus for preparing synthesis gas by partial oxidation of a finely divided solid carbon-containing fuel. In an upflow entrained gasifier the gases leaving the reactor are cooled in a radiation or convection cooler located above the gasifier. In order to prevent the cooled gases to flow back into the gasifier part a restriction is provided between the gasifier and the cooler above. The gas velocity in the restriction should be at least 2 and maximum 30 times higher than the superficial upward velocity of the gases in the gasifier. VM2/T6064FF

Why it's free to use

  • Filed October 29, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended October 29, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 29, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
