The instant invention is a catalyzed process for the redistribution of linear, chloride or hydroxy end-terminated polyorganosiloxanes or cyclic polyorgano-siloxanes. Effective catalysts for the described process are alumina, silica-alumina, activated carbon zeolite and acid, clay. The catalyzed redistribution process can be incorporated as an element of a three-stage process. The three-stage process allows control of the yield of cyclic polyorganosiloxanes.

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 28, 1991 and granted May 1, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 28, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 28, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
