An ultrasonic sensor for use in an ultrasonic micro spectrometer includes a concave surface transducer having a concave ultrasonic wave transmitting/receiving surface and a plane transducer having a plane transmitting/receiving surface. The concave surface transducer is capable of transmitting converging ultrasonic waves toward a specimen, wherein the waves are reflected from the surface of the specimen and are received by the plane transducer which outputs electric signals corresponding to the intensity of the reflected ultrasonic waves. Based on a signal output from the ultrasonic sensor, a spectroanalyzer forms a distribution of spectral intensity indicating the intensity of the …

Why it's free to use
- Filed October 8, 1991 and granted January 6, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended October 8, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by October 8, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
