A polyimide film is describerd having improved adhesion prepared by coating the surface of a partially cured or partially dried polyamide acid film with an organic solvent solution of a metal salt and heating the coated film to both convert the polyamide acid to polyimide and dry the film. By proper selection of the metal salt either a one-side adherable or two-side adherable polyimide film can be obtained. The polyimide film can be used in electrical insulating and flexible printed circuit applications where superior adhesion is an important requirement. 17

Why it's free to use
- Filed September 18, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 18, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 18, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
