42234 CAN lA, VIBRATION DAMPER HAVING EXTENDED TEMPERATURE RANGE Abstract of the Disclosure, Constrained layer damping structures are often based on viscoelastic layers of iso-octyl acrylate:acrylic acid or analogous copolymers. As the acrylic acid content is increased, the peak damping temperature also increases; unfortunately, however, the copolymer becomes more brittle and susceptible to shock, especially at low temperatures. Incorporating small amounts of rubbery polymer particles (especially core-shell polymers) in the viscoelastic copolymer alleviates this problem.

Why it's free to use
- Filed September 6, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended September 6, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 6, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
