Abstract From the Canadian patent

Disclosed is an apparatus for equilibrating component tensions in a multicomponent filamentary yarn which is advancing in a primary direction. The apparatus includes a series of yarn guides arranged so that the multicomponent filamentary yarn deviates both horizontally and vertically from the primary direction. This deviation advantageously prevents predominance of one component in an air entangled yarn made from two or more different colored or different dye affinity bulked continuous filament feed yarns without unsuitably increasing the overall tension. Why it's free to use

  • Filed September 4, 1991 and granted July 15, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended September 4, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by September 4, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
