A locking groove extending in the horizontal direction is formed approximately at the center of a front surface of a cartridge. A power switch is turned on/off in response to an operation of a slide switch. When the power switch is turned on by the slide switch a lock, plate rotates in response to the operation of the slide switch. At this time, a projecting portion provided on one side of the lock plate is fit in the locking groove. Consequently simultaneously with the turning on/off the power, the cartridge is locked so as not to be ejected.

Why it's free to use
- Filed August 15, 1991 and granted May 4, 1999. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended August 15, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 15, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
