Abstract From the Canadian patent

Clip securing apparatus. Clip securing apparatus for securing clips of plastics materials around filamentary, stranded or strip-like materials comprises a throat (25) for receiving materials to be secured together, a holder (14) for a plurality of clips, and a reciprocal driver (10) operable to remove clips one at a time from the holder (14) and to drive each clip in open condition through the throat (25) of the apparatus so that the materials to be secured together enter the clip. The throat (25) has opposed faces that act upon the clip as it passes through the throat (25) to close the clip around the materials and so secure the clip around the materials. (Figures 1 and 2)

Why it's free to use

  • Filed August 9, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended August 9, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by August 9, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
