Abstract From the Canadian patent

In a segmented wheel rotary valve, a sealing arrangement is positioned between the side discs of the segmented wheel and the respective adjacent bearing supporting housing covers. The sealing arrangement includes a plastic filler ring which is positioned in a floating arrangement between each cover and the respective adjacent side disc and is loaded in axial as well as radial direction by an appropriate resilient ring or spring arrangement. The sealing arrangement experiences relatively reduced wear and thus uneven wear of the sealing rings is substantially prevented.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed July 5, 1991 and granted July 5, 1994. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended July 5, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by July 5, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
