Wet air preferably from a liquid ring pump is dehumidified by the use of a desiccant liquid absorber. The heat released by condensation of water vapor in the absorption liquid will be taken up by the air. The air is further heated by water vapor produce by regenerating the absorption liquid. According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the source of the wet air is a suction box in the forming section, couch roll or pick-up roll of a paper machine and the hot air is used as pocket ventilation air in the dryer section of the paper machine.

Why it's free to use
- Filed June 17, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended June 17, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 17, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
