A method is described for manufacturing foamable metal bodies in which a mixture (17) of a metal powder (15) and a gas-splitting propellant powder (16) is hot-compacted to a semifinished product (19) at a temperature at which the joining of the metal powder particles takes place primarily by diffusion and at a pressure which is sufficiently high to hinder the decomposition of the propellant in such fashion that the metal particles form a solid bond with one another and constitute a gas-tight seal for the gas particles of the propellant. Why it's free to use
- Filed June 7, 1991 and granted May 1, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 7, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 7, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
