Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to a radar apparatus having a wideband preselector filter (15), a wideband preamplifier (16) a, narrowband IF filter (19) and a jamming indicator (11). In order to obtain a warning against a jammer being active within the large bandwidth of the preselector filter (15) but outside the narrowband IF filter (19), the jammer indicator (11) has the same bandwidth as the wideband preselector filter and is connected after the preamplifier (16), but before the narrowband IF filter (19). A warning is necessary as a jammer of this type may greatly reduce the sensitivity of the radar apparatus by saturating the preamplifier (16).

Why it's free to use

  • Filed June 6, 1991 and granted April 28, 1998. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended June 6, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by June 6, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
