Abstract From the Canadian patent

Novel Enzyme and DNA coding therefor The invention concerns a peptidylhydroxyglycine N-C lyase (PHL) catalyzing the reaction R-GlyOH ? R-NH2, wherein R represents a peptide residue and GlyOH represents an .alpha.-hydroxyglycine residue linked to the C-terminus of said peptide R by an amide bond a recombinant DNA, molecule coding for a PHL a method for the preparation of such a recombinant DNAmolecule processes for the preparation of PHL from a natural source or by means of the said recombinant DNA molecule, and the use of PHL for the preparation of an amidated peptide R-NH2.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed May 30, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended May 30, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 30, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
