In a low-noise multistage amplifier of this invention, operation currents of amplifiers in respective stages (in particular, first- and final-stage amplifiers) are set so that an optimal signal source reflection coefficient ?opt and S parameters are almost not varied by manufacturing variations. The lengths of source stubs connected to FETs of the amplifiers in the respective stages are optimally set in units of stages so that characteristics of the amplifier do not change due to the manufacturing variations, and a sufficient gain can be obtained.

Why it's free to use
- Filed May 23, 1991 and granted December 17, 1996. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended May 23, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by May 23, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
