Abstract From the Canadian patent

Light hydrocarbons are separated from a feedstream containing hydrogen, light hydrocarbons and heavy hydrocarbons by a process that employs a, thermal swing adsorption zone to adsorb heavy hydrocarbons and a pressure swing adsorption zone to remove the remaining light hydrocarbons. At least a portion of the hydrogen product stream from the pressure swing adsorption zone is used to purge the rich adsorbent from the thermal swing adsorption zone thereby regenerating it. Specific applications of the process of the present invention are disclosed with relation to hydrodealkylation processes and dehydrocyclodimerization processes.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 22, 1991 and granted October 2, 2001. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 22, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 22, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
