In a propulsion system for space vehicles jets or reaction motors are, commonly used to provide a thrust or an unbalanced force. The mass used for reaction is the fuel, and the fuel is launched into orbit along with the space vehicle at great expense. My invention circumvents this expense by using the same mass over and over again. The mass in my invention is in the form of basic charged particles of matter. These are accelerated to high velocities such as half the speed of light or greater. When the particles are exhibiting extra mass due to mass-energy equivalence, the particles are made to change direction by 180 degrees thereby, exerting an unbalanced force on the deflecting duct in the …

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 22, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 22, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 22, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
