Abstract From the Canadian patent

A method of installing sprinkler-head mounting pipes for supply of water to sprinkler head mounting pipes for supply of water to sprinkler heads employed for release of water for extinguishing fires as well as piping arrangements for sprinkler head mounting, are provided herein. In the piping arrangement the joints each have at least two outlet ports. The sprinkler heads are coupled to the outlet ports via flexible pipes. As a consequence the piping arrangement as a whole is simplified and the required series of piping operations can be easily carried out.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 19, 1991 and granted February 4, 1997. A Canadian patent filed from October 1, 1989 lasts 20 years from filing, so its term ended April 19, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 19, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
