A master transceiver and a slave transceiver are employed for providing an accurate measurement of the distance between two locations in which these transceivers are situated. A pulse signal is generated by the master transceiver which, requires a time period of t1 to travel to the slave transceiver. After a time delay of t2 upon the receipt of the pulse signal by the slave transceiver it transmits a response signal back to the master transceiver. The response signal requires the same time period of t1 to be received by the master transceiver. The total time involved is compared with a reference time to distance circuit in the master transceiver to determine the distance between the two …

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 18, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 18, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 18, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
