F-5502, A METHOD FOR EVALUATING CORE SAMPLES FROM X-RAY ENERGY ATTENUATION MEASUREMENTS, ABSTRACT X-ray attenuation measurements at two or more energies are carried out on core samples of earth materials for use in determining relative Compton scattering and photoelectric contributions to attenuation, The measurements are utilized to calculate material bulk density from the change in attenuation between such X-ray energies and the attenuation for one of the X-ray energies.

Why it's free to use
- Filed April 10, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 10, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 10, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
