Abstract From the Canadian patent

Modified Beta Adrenergic Receptor having the amino acid residue in position 113 (aspartic acid) substituted by a serine residue has been synthesized. This modified receptor interacts with novel ligands that do not react with the natural Asp 113 containing receptor. Transgenic animals containing this modified receptor will respond to novel ligands which will not interact with the normal receptor.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed April 2, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended April 2, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by April 2, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
