Abstract From the Canadian patent

It is known that in heat cycle engines cranks are moved by pistons which are kept in motion by an expanding and contracting enclosed gas. This invention comprises an endless elongated duct which, with its advanced spiral shape, an enclosed expanding and contracting gas or fluid and two incorporated valves, rotates around a central hub axle without employing cranks or pistons.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 28, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 28, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 28, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
