POLYETHER AMIDE FROM TETRAETHYLENE GLYCOL DIAMINE AND TEREPHTHALIC ACID, (D#80,892-F) Abstract of the Disclosure, Polyether amides may be produced by reacting aromatic dicarboxylic acids with tetraethylene glycol diamine. This is surprising since aromatic dicarboxylic acids, such as terephthalic acid cannot be readily reacted with triethylene glycol diamine. Suitable dicarboxylic acids include terephthalic acid, isophthalic acid, t-butyl isophthalic acid and mixtures thereof. Tetra-, ethylene glycol diamine is also known as JEFFAMINE? EDR-192 Amine. The resulting polyether amides are useful to make polymers including, fibers, with unusually good water absorbancy properties.

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 19, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 19, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 19, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
