RECHARGEABLE ALKALINE MANGANESE CELL HAVING IMPROVED CAPACITY AND IMPROVED ENERGY DENSITY ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE:, A rechargeable alkaline manganese cell is provided having improved capacity and improved energy density. The cell is anode limited and each of the anode and, cathode is physically dimensioned so that the anode has a capacity in the range of from about 45% to about 100% of the capacity of the cathode. The gravimetric energy density of the cell exceeds 70 Wh/kg, and the volumetric energy density of the cell exceeds 200 Wh/litre. Each of the anode and cathode may comprise additional additives. For example, the cathode may include additional hydrophobic materials and a porous …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 7, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 7, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 7, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
