Abstract From the Canadian patent

The invention relates to enzyme detection assay compositions and methods which have chromogenic and nonchromogenic, hypochromogenic, bathochromogenic or hypsochromogenic substrates. By using both chromogenic and nonchromogenic, hypochromogenic batho-, chromogenic or hypsochromogenic substrates assay sensitivity can be controlled and the need for sample predilution eliminated. In one embodiment of the invention an assay for the estimation of serum cholinesterase activity is provided.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 5, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 5, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 5, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
