Abstract From the Canadian patent

Fluorinated .beta.-ketoimine ligands and highly volatile .beta.-ketoiminato metal complexes of the ligands are synthesized by silylatlng a fluorinated .beta.-diketone to form a sllylenolether, and subsequently reacting the silylenolether with a primary diamine to form the desired ligand having the structural formula:, wherein R1, R2, R4 and R5 are independently linear or branched perfluorinated, C1-C8 alkyl groups and R3 is any organic functionality such as a C1-C8 alkylene, phenylene or hydroxyalkylene group all of which can, be partially or fully fluorinated. The corresponding metal complex is formed by treatlng the ligand with a metal halide.

Why it's free to use

  • Filed March 5, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 5, 2011.
  • A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 5, 2013.
  • We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
