The invention is a method for quantitatively determining the amount of saturate, olefin and aromatic components in a composition or mixture. The method involves contacting a sample of a composition with a stationary phase; separating the saturates olefins and, aromatics loaded on the stationary phase by passing a supercritical fluid mobile phase through the stationary phase to obtain an eluent, wherein the amount of saturates, olefins and aromatics in the eluent varies over time and passing the eluent through an ultraviolet absorption (Uv) detector for irradiating the eluent with ultraviolet light at a wavelength capable of producing a uniform ultraviolet absorbance response for the olefins …

Why it's free to use
- Filed March 1, 1991. No grant is recorded for it in Canada; had it been granted, its 20-year term would have ended March 1, 2011.
- A certificate of supplementary protection adds at most two years for a drug, so even that would have ended by March 1, 2013.
- We check Canadian rights only. A patent in its family in another country could still be in force: check its family on Google Patents.
